This article covers how to access Gen 8.6 software and PTFs for all operating system (OS) platforms plus some additional licensing information.

The following steps deliberately go via the Gen Product Home page where other useful information can be found.
The other option for steps 2 & 3 is to use "My Downloads" from the main dashboard page ro get to https://support.broadcom.com/group/ecx/downloads, and then select GEN to get to https://support.broadcom.com/group/ecx/productdownloads?subfamily=GEN (step 4).

1. Login to the Broadcom Support Portal from this page: https://support.broadcom.com

2. After login the main dashboard page https://support.broadcom.com/group/ecx/my-dashboard, will be displayed. Make sure "Mainframe Software" is selected in the top right drop-down. 

3. On left hand side select "All Products" to get to page: https://support.broadcom.com/group/ecx/all-products

4a. Search on "Gen" and select Product Details for Gen to get to the Gen Product Home page: https://support.broadcom.com/group/ecx/productdetails?productName=Gen.
NOTE: It will be seen that there are 4 Gen Product Names listed in total which is just due to the different ways the product could be sold i.e. "Gen", "Gen - Host Encyclopedia", "Gen - Run Time Distributed", "Gen - Workstation Toolset". Selecting either one should end up at same point for the software downloads. If any subsequent problems are found go back to the "All Products" page and try choosing a different Gen product name.

5. z/OS:
Expand "Gen Encyclopedia Server MVS" to see the hyperlink for 8.6 which opens page containing the media file: https://support.broadcom.com/group/ecx/productfiles?sellable=GENESR002&release=8.6&os=MVS&servicePk=2111&language=EN
Gen for z/OS r8.6 2111 Media:

The PAX file contains all the Gen Mainframe z/OS software for the Gen 8.6 Service Update Level 2111 for which more details can be found under "Service Update Level 2111 for z/OS Availability" on page: Gen™ 8.6 > Release Notes > New Features
NOTE:
All the links for all the MVS product names ending "MVS", "MIPS MVS" and "MSU MVS" refer to the exact same PAX file i.e. it does not matter if select "Gen Encyclopedia Server..." or "Gen Implementation Toolset Option..." or "Gen TCP/IP Direct Connect Option..." or "Gen Encyclopedia Update API Option ...". It is the LMP keys for specific license entitlements that will control what software components can be used.

6. Windows:
