Issue/Introduction

I have 2 CA Gen models which represent the CSE data model itself. Trial migration across the 2 modes stored on a CSE fails with the following message:

===

Data Table DSUBEX

Total number of migrations requested:  1

*** TRIAL MIGRATION DID NOT COMPLETE SUCCESSFULLY ***

PROBLEM: OBJECT(S) CANNOT BE/MUST BE DELETED.

Indexspace DSUBEXI1 in Database CSE                                INVALIDATES

  Database CSE

     (Source id = 538771579, Target id = 1073861770, Assoc type = 378)

===

In the target model, I have deleted and then recreated the table in the correct database CSE, as it was originally in another database IEFDB. Then I adopted the table but still get the problem.

Environment

Release : 8.6

Component : CA Gen Client Server Encyclopedia

Cause

Migration from source model to destination model being done with single Data Table object DSUBEX in aggregate set.

Both source and destination models contained multiple databases (CSE & IEFDB)

In the source model the table DSUBEX and its tablespace T0000242 was in the Database CSE

In destination model the table DSUBEX had been deleted from database IEFDB and recreated in database CSE but its tablespace T0000242 was still in the Database IEFDB.

CA GEN 8.6 > Client Server Encyclopedia > Evaluate Migration Error Messages (see "Object Invalidates Object")

Resolution

Resolved trial migration error by adding "Enabling Object" tablespace T0000242 to the aggregate set. That object was effectively missing in the destination model because it was still in the other database IEFDB.

CA GEN 8.6 > Client Server Encyclopedia > FAQs About Migration

CA GEN 8.6 > Client Server Encyclopedia > Migration Rules > Aggregate Object Expansions and Special Cases > Data Table

The trial migration error could also have been resolved by moving the tablespace object from database IEFDB to database CSE in the destination model.
