Issue/Introduction

Created the NAS profile to send email alerts. Email alerts are triggering as expected but every 5 minutes the email is triggering for the same alert.

Requirement is email should be sent when the alert is triggered and email should be sent when the alert is cleared, not every 5 minutes or for every event.

Resolution

Getting an email each time the probe alerts even though it is a duplicate alert. 

  • In the nas Auto-Operator  profile when you set to use Action mode "On message arrival" the nas performs the action immediately - before suppression is performed.
  • Ensure that the 'Action Mode' setting for the nas Auto Operator profile is not set  to "On message arrival."
  • If this is the case, change the time setting to "On overdue age" and set a small period e.g "30s"
