Issue/Introduction

The Time Slicing job does not complete and the following appears in the BG-CA log:

[CA Clarity][Oracle JDBC Driver]Object has been closed. 

Cause

Possible Causes

1. The Oracle SQLNET.ora file may be missing the following parameters:

The following are required parameters for CA PPM:

SQLNET.INBOUND_CONNECT_TIMEOUT = 0 

SQLNET.SEND_TIMEOUT = 600

2. The incorrect version of the Data Direct Oracle driver is being used by Clarity.

Resolution

  1. Make sure Oracle is configured correctly in SQLNET.ora file
  2. Ensure the correct copy of the delivered $clarity/lib/c-oracle.jar file is being used.
  3. If not, replace the file and restart the bg service(s)
